Fishing in Seikyu

Fishing is one of the six core skills and a reliable source of income year-round. Unlike farming, fishing never stops — even in Winter, the waters hold valuable catches.

How Fishing Works

  1. Equip your rod and stand near water
  2. Cast and wait for a bite (visual + audio cue)
  3. Reel in by timing your pulls — watch the tension meter
  4. Don't over-tension — the line breaks if the meter stays in the red too long
  5. Higher Fishing skill = larger catch window = easier catches

  • Access: Beach area south of town
  • Tip: Ocean fish are generally more valuable than river fish. Prioritize ocean time.

# Shallow Sea

  • Best for: Crystal Shrimp (Spring/Summer/Fall)
  • Access: Wading areas along the coastline
  • Tip: Crystal Shrimp are consistent mid-value catches

# Ponds

  • Best for: Bream (Summer)
  • Access: Small ponds near the forest area

Tips for Catching Rare and Precious Fish

  1. Fish during the right season — Rare fish only appear in specific seasons
  2. Upgrade your rod — Higher-tier rods make precious fish possible to catch
  3. Fish at optimal times — Early morning (6:00-8:00 AM) and evening (6:00-8:00 PM) tend to have better bites
  4. Watch the weather — Cod only appears on rainy days
  5. Be patient — Precious fish bite less often. Don't leave the spot; keep casting
  6. Use bait (if available) — Some bait increases rare fish appearance rates
  7. Level Fishing skill — Higher skill widens the catch window significantly
