Winter in Seikyu

Winter is the farming off-season — no outdoor crops grow. But that doesn't mean you sit idle. Winter is your chance to focus on mining, fishing, cooking, NPC relationships, and dungeon exploration.

Winter Crops

There are no outdoor crops in Winter. Your fields will be covered in snow. However:

• Indoor greenhouse (if unlocked) allows year-round growing
• Mushroom logs can still produce indoors
• Fruit trees go dormant but don't die

Mining: Your Primary Winter Activity

With farming on hold, mining becomes your main income source:

• Fox Ruins — Contains ore deposits alongside combat encounters
• Mountain Mine — Dedicated mining area with deeper floors for rarer ores

• Bring stamina food — mining drains energy fast
• Use the Boar form charge to break rocks quicker
• Upgrade your pickaxe at Hephaestus's forge before Winter
• Deeper floors have rarer ores but harder enemies
• Gold and Mythril ore are also Hephaestus's favorite gifts

Winter Fishing

Winter fishing is surprisingly profitable:

Target: Tuna at 250g is the single most valuable regular fish in the game. Fish the ocean on clear Winter days. On rainy days, target Cod (100g).

• Winter 20 — Sasaki (Woodworker) — Give Hardwood or Furniture Blueprint

# Seasonal Events

• Snow Festival — Build snow sculptures, enjoy hot food, and bond with NPCs
• New Year's Eve (Day 28) — Celebrate the end of the year. Special dialogue with all NPCs.
• Winter Market — Vendors may sell rare items and seeds for the coming Spring

Winter Priorities Checklist

# Week 1 (Days 1-7)

• Begin daily mining runs
• Fish the ocean for Tuna
• Give birthday gift to Nyotengu (Day 4)
• Catch up on NPC conversations
• Cook bulk meals with stored ingredients

# Week 2 (Days 8-14)

• Push deeper into the mine for Gold and Mythril ore
• Continue ocean fishing
• Give birthday gifts to Fujiki (Day 12) and Kababa (Day 14)
• Complete Fox Ruins if not done already
• Upgrade remaining tools

# Week 3 (Days 15-21)

• Focus on Combat skill leveling in dungeons
• Give birthday gift to Sasaki (Day 20)
• Stockpile ore for tool upgrades
• Cook gifts for NPCs you're romancing
• Attend Snow Festival

# Week 4 (Days 22-28)

• Final mining push — deepest floors
• Sell all surplus ore and fish
• Buy Spring seeds for the new year
• Attend New Year's Eve celebration
• Plan your Spring farm layout

Making Gold in Winter

Without crops, you need alternative income:

1. Mining — Gold and Mythril ore sell for 80-150g each
2. Ocean fishing — Tuna (250g) and Blobfish (200g) daily
3. Cooking — Cooked dishes sell for more than raw ingredients
4. Combat drops — Monster materials from Fox Ruins sell well
5. Quest completion — Finish any pending side quests for gold rewards
6. Foraging — Winter forage items still spawn in certain areas

Winter Relationship Building

With more free time, Winter is ideal for romance:

• No farming means you can visit NPCs at any time of day
• Cook their favorite dishes with stored ingredients
• Two gifts per week × 4 weeks = 8 gift opportunities per NPC
• Birthday gifts give 8x affection — don't miss Nyotengu (Day 4) and Sasaki (Day 20)

Transitioning to Spring Year 2

By the end of Winter, you should have:

• At least 10,000g in reserve
• All tools upgraded to at least Iron level
• Several NPC friendships at 4+ hearts
• Fox Ruins completed with all mask forms unlocked
• A clear plan for Year 2 Spring farming
